Living in Australia (Good old Aussie as it is locally
known), is great!
The people are very friendly and helpful if you ask
for help. There is a wide variety of foods and cultures
present in Australia, so there is always variation in
what you can see and do. I have a weak spot for live
theatre and go to see performances quite often. Or go
to see films with my friends. or just go shopping with
those I care about. There is heaps of places to go shopping
as well, with prices being very good.
Melbourne is probably one of the most unique places
in the world. It has been the World's Most Livable city
several years running. It is also well known for its
ability to have all four seasons in one day! You can
wake up to a rainy, cold winters day, which rapidly
turns into a cool calm autumn day. This becomes quite
warm and sunny by lunchtime, cooling off to a breezy
spring day by the mid-afternoon. It is wonderful.
The summers in Australia are warm and sunny and we
have some of the best beaches in the world for surfing
and swimming, or just relaxing. The countryside has
the unique animals that are found in Australia; such
as the Kangaroo, Koala, Fairy Penguins and Emus, as
well as Wombats.
The Aussies are a mixed bag of people with many being
sports orientated, others being more relaxation inclined.
We are very environmentally aware and work hard at caring
for the environment that makes up our home.
As mentioned, many Aussies are involved with, or watch,
a lot of sports. Australia has events such as the Australian
Open (Tennis), AFL Grand Final (Australian Football,
which can stop the Nation while it is on), Grand Prix
racing (Formula 1 motor car racing), Horse racing, Greyhound
racing and Golf. Not to mention swimming, shooting,
bowls, surfing and countless others.
Every major city and many towns across Australia all
celebrate the coming of Spring by holding Shows of peoples
crafts, animals and stock. These are great fun places
and draw huge crowds. the Melbourne Show is held in
the last 2 weeks of September every year.
Australia has many natural wonders to come and see,
with Uluru (Ayers Rock), Flinders Ranges, The Great
Ocean Road, The Grampians and many. many more.
To sum up, Australia is one of the best places in the
world to live. It has natural and artificial wonders
to see, masses of activities to do, great job opportunities,
and wonderful people.
Hope to see you at Japanese Language School in Australia.
